Zentrale Frage ist, ob Complement Coercion als integraler Bestandteil der Komposition angesehen werden sollte oder ob es mit (kreativen) Reparaturmechanismen einhergeht, die unsere sprachliche Produktivität erweitern.

Insbesondere soll erforscht werden, wie sich Sprachfertigkeiten und sprachliche Mittel zu unterschiedlichen Erwerbszeitpunkten entwickeln und wie sich darauf bezogene Kompetenzen systematisiert beschreiben lassen. Geplant ist zu diesem Zweck die Entwicklung und der Einsatz diagnostischer Verfahren für die Niveaus Al—B2.

The project explores the interplay between word-formation and discourse structure. Central to this is the idea that products of word-formation – whether lexicalized, occasional, or novel formations – may contribute to the construction of discourse structure in various ways, for example as anaphoric devices or as cohesion markers. Conversely, discourse structure can also influence the creation and use of complex words. The research draws on widely annotated corpus data, taking into account also potentially relevant factors such as text type.
